Welcome

Heading to Boulder, Colorado for the summer.
Working with NOAA has provided me with a great opportunity. I'll be working with folks from the NOAA Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and the Office of Atmospheric Research (OAR). The project is building a nationwide research network for NOAA. The network will connect valuable resources such as super-computers and the NOAA Archive Systems.

Weekend Trip

New Boulder Apartment

Finally found the elusive camera-laptop cable.

Here are a couple of pictures of the apartment.
Nice view off the balcony/deck.

Finally have a few minutes to take a rest and enter some information.
The trip was mind-numbing, but not too bad.
I put in about 12-14 hours the first day so I could take it easy on the last ones.
It worked out pretty good and it put me into Boulder at a good time on the last day.

I went into work on Friday to get my access cards and figure out where my office is.
I'm down on the basement level, no windows. That's okay, it will let me focus on work.

Friday afternoon I met with the rep from Housing Helpers and found an apartment.
It only took about 30 minutes to look at the unit, and the separate garage. It wasn't the one I was planning on getting, but it's cheaper. I think it will work out good. The only problem is that I have to walk up three levels of stairs to get to the unit. Just more exercise.

I have a bunch of pictures, but I can't find the cable to attach to my camera. I'll post the pictures as soon as I find the cable.

I spent today checking out of Homewood Suites and getting moved into the apartment. I had to bring the trailer down to the apartment and unload everything into the garage. I then found a do it yourself car wash so I could give it a quick bath before I dropped it off over at the NOAA property. It's all safe and secure. I have my bikes and other stuff in the garage here at the apartment. I spent today getting everything unpacked and put away, but I think I'm done now. I also had to do some grocery shopping. How humbling!

Plans for tomorrow are to go check out a restaurant that we are going to with our networking group this next week. I want to see where it is since I'll be driving some of the folks up there. Then I'm going to see if I can find a place that makes Wolfman tank bags. It's up near Longmont and Rocky Mountain Kawasaki.

That's it for today. I hope to start uploading some pictures to this soon. See you all later!
